About Us
Bluebird Farm & Horse Ranch is owned and operated by Pete and Annie Bowes whom were married in February of 2006. Annie brought with her a broodmare band that had been over a decade in the making, and Pete provided a modest facility on the prairie in Post Falls, Idaho.
The original farm name was derived from Annie’s Native American heritage and her cherished name “Bluebird Sings”. This name was given to Annie by Aunt Monica Jae Hall in keeping with Indian tradition, since Aunt Monica’s husband, Uncle Roy Victor Hall Junior, is the Tribal Chairman and descendant of Chiefs. Additional information about the Shasta Nation and Annie’s family can be read in a book written by Annie’s Grandmother Betty Lou Hall and Aunt Monica Jae Hall. This book can be purchased through Amazon.com, or by contacting Annie at annie@bluebirdfarm.net. The title of the book is Images of America, Shasta Nation and the ISBN is 0-7385-2957-5. It can be purchased for about $20 per copy.
Annie loves the farm life and enjoys working and playing in the great outdoors. She is also a veterinarian employed by The Animal Doctor in Oldtown, Idaho. She treats both large and small animals in the north Idaho, western Montana, and eastern Washington areas.
Pete was born in New Jersey and moved to Idaho in 1992 where he served as an Idaho State Patrol Officer. After retiring, he coached varsity baseball at Post Falls High School and started his own business: ISP Driving Academy. Please check out Pete’s web page at:
Together, Pete and Annie raise horses, cows, chickens, children, and commercial hay. Pete’s three kids are pictured above while at the Seattle Woodland Park Zoo. Everyone in the family helps out with the farm responsibilities and together it makes for a fun place to be.
Favorite activities of the family include hunting, fishing, camping, swimming, boating, four wheeling, hiking, and of course horseback riding!
Thank you for taking the time to get to know everyone at Bluebird Farm & Horse Ranch. We hope you will also visit the web pages of our horses and other farm critters. And if you are ever in the Post Falls area, please stop by and say Hello!
Happy trails! |
