Cashmir Funk

aka “Cash”

Born in June of 2007 this lanky bay Thoroughbred colt should mature well over 16 hands high since his dam, "Birdie " was 16.3 hands high. The colt’s sire "Wings of Wyoming" was 16.2 hands high. The pictures on this webpage were taken when he was ten months old or five days of age.

The name “Cashmir Funk” was given to this colt by Dana Bowes whom is holding him in the picture below. Cashmir Funk was a Polish scientist that coined the term ‘vitamin’ in 1911. He isolated compounds which he considered to be vital to life, but his discovery was greatly under appreciated during his lifetime. Cash is very athletic and could be an excellent racer or hunter if given the opportunity to excel. He was sold in the summer of 2008. Before then, Bluebird Farm & Horse Ranch enjoyed his sound mind and very calm attitude. He had been castrated, halter broke, and trailer loaded willingly. As a colt, he was easy to catch and was comfortable playing by himself – running in big laps around the arena. He even circled the barrels on his own!
