Chief of Bluebird Farm

aka “Chief”

One of Bluebird Farm & Horse Ranch’s favorite riding horses is American Indian Horse “Chief.”  When the mares are in the middle of the foaling season, Chief is always available for trail rides and camping.  He is good natured and takes very special care of the horses in his herd.

Chief has a long history with the family of Bluebird Farm & Horse Ranch’s owner Annie Bowes.  He once belonged to her late Great Uncle Butch McCallister, whom had a tremendous amount of influence on her life path.  Additional information is available on the webpage entitled:  Veterinary School. Chief and Uncle Butch are pictured below when Chief was just a colt. Uncle Butch taught him to be a very confident trail horse and a steady cow horse.

Chief is a very special gelding and a very wonderful ride.  He stands 16.3 hands high and weighs approximately 1,150 pounds.  He was born in 1994 and is registered as an American Indian Horse with the classic black and white Tobiano pattern.  Chief has large feet and excels in dressage movement, though he loves to trail ride and chase cows.
